Why DiffDriver Clubsport?
DiffDriver Clubsport extends the capability of many standalone ECUs and digital dashes* to include advanced electronic differential control and datalogging for Subaru DCCD and similar units**.
Innovative Tuning noticed people with standalone engine computers kept buying standalone differential control systems that required them to run duplicate wiring all over the vehicle.
Despite the added weight, cost, and complexity, they ended up with pretty basic differential control, and left their ECU out of the loop so the systems weren’t integrated, and they couldn’t datalog what the differential was doing.
Innovative Tuning took a different approach, and turned to Haze Engineering to produce a suitable device built to a higher standard.
Through careful custom board design, DiffDriver is smaller than competitor products, and weighs only 3 ounces!
Don’t let the size fool you though, we’ve taken durability to a higher level with an anodized aluminum case plus sealed circuitry, and the Amphenol connector avoids concerns with lower quality connectors.

How does it work?
During normal operation DiffDriver uses a tuned duty cycle signal from your aftermarket engine computer or dash to manage the differential.
That signal can be sent from an auxiliary ECU output, or a spare injector or coil output.
Since only a PWM ground signal is required, this allows ECUs without high amperage outputs to do more than ever before.
By using general purpose outputs, modern ECUs allow you to create your own control strategies to suit any driver preference or type of racing, while DiffDriver does the high current driving.
DiffDriver Clubsport has built-in functionality to disable differential lockup while pulling a hydraulic or standard e-brake. It also has a full lock override which is useful for broken axle or stuck vehicle recovery, diagnostics, and more. This avoids tying up ECU inputs if you don’t have extras to spare.
Two LEDs on the module provide an easy way to check status. One lights up green when the system is ready. The second indicates the current level of differential control output in amber.
The simple 5-7 pin wiring and 2 bolt mounting spacing are laser etched on the unit for easy installation. There’s also an easily accessible fuse onboard in case you have a wiring mishap, and that saves you the effort of wiring one in-line.

*DiffDriver Clubsport is a universal add-on module which requires a PWM ground control signal input from a capable standalone ECU, digital dash, or other tunable device. Link and Haltech ECUs, Motec dashes were used in initial testing, but many aftermarket ECUs and dashes can output a PWM signal on an auxiliary output, or an unused ignition or injection output. DiffDriver Clubsport is not specifically geared towards ECUs with half bridge outputs that can drive DCCD directly, but may be of use if you don’t have any more half bridges available.
