MK60/Bosch ABS/Active Wheel Speed Sensor Subaru Adapter Kit

Since Subaru factory ABS systems aren’t great for motorsports applications, I decided to put a MK60 kit on my Subaru road race car. For those not familiar, BMW MK60 ABS systems are a popular braking upgrade people have retrofit into various non BMW platforms i.e. Corvette, but it wasn’t common for Subaru yet.

Creating custom sensor mounting adapters for alternate sensors is something I would have loved to avoid, but it was required since there wasn’t a kit on the market that I could buy. Rather than everyone having to make their own solution, I’ve decided to produce a kit to make install easy and affordable, using machined adapters for durability.

Because this kit allows you to install Bosch compatible active wheel speed sensors, it can be use not only with MK60 ABS, but also with Bosch Motorsport ABS.

Alternatively, if you don’t use ABS on your vehicle, this kit has another use case. This active wheel speed sensor conversion can provide individual wheel speed data to a standalone ECU or dash logger for traction control, to optimize launch or boost by gear, dial in DCCD control, suspension, or otherwise.

Custom wiring from the sensors to an ABS kit or ECU/Logger is not included, and is required to complete these projects. Before purchasing a kit please confirm total installation fits your budget, and you or your builder or wiring harness supplier’s skill set.

This kit is for retrofitting active wheel speed sensors in a vehicle with:

• 02-06 Subaru Impreza, WRX, or STI front knuckles (OEM or Wisefab)
• 04-07 Impreza, WRX, or STI rear knuckles (OEM or Wisefab)
• Axles with OEM 02-07 WRX or STI ABS tone (wheel speed) rings

Included in the kit:

• 1 pair machined front wheel speed sensor mounting adapters (thick)
• 1 pair machined rear wheel speed sensor mounting adapters (thin)
• 1 full set of Bosch compatible wheel speed sensors (front and rear are different, and fronts are side specific)

Not included in the kit:

• MK60 or MK60E1 kit, wiring, or anything else you’ll need to install and use MK60 ABS
• Instructions on how to install, wire, use, or diagnose MK60 ABS. This is a wheel speed sensor and sensor mounting kit only.

Installation instructions:

• 4 adapters are provided. Thin adapters are used on rear knuckles. Thick adapters are used on front knuckles.
• 4 sensors are provided. Those with shorter harnesses go in front knuckles, and are side specific. Sensors with longer harnesses go in rear knuckles, and are not side specific.
• Place one of the appropriate provided adapters between the knuckle and each sensor, torque OEM sensor mounting bolt to stock spec. Longer bolts are not required.

Note: This kit is produced and sold for off road competition use only, and is not suited to road use. BMW MK60 or Bosch Motorsport ABS conversions require installation expertise including but not limited to installation of a new ABS unit, sensors, associated custom wiring, and will cause an ABS warning light in the stock gauge cluster, as well as error codes.
