MK60 ABS Subaru Mounting Adapter Kit

Since Subaru factory ABS systems aren’t great for motorsports applications, I decided to put a MK60 kit on my Subaru road race car. For those not familiar, BMW MK60 ABS systems are a popular braking upgrade people have retrofit into various non BMW platforms i.e. Corvette, but it wasn’t common for Subaru yet.

Creating custom sensor mounting adapters for alternate sensors is something I would have loved to avoid, but it was required since there wasn’t a kit on the market that I could buy. Rather than everyone having to make their own solution, I’ve decided to produce a run of mounting adapters to make this part of the install easy.

This kit is for retrofitting MK60 ABS in a vehicle with:

• 02-06 Subaru Impreza, WRX, or STI front knuckles (OEM or Wisefab)
• 04-07 Impreza, WRX, or STI rear knuckles (OEM or Wisefab)
• Axles with OEM 02-07 WRX or STI ABS tone (wheel speed) rings

Included in the kit:

• 1 pair machined front wheel speed sensor mounting adapters.
• Part number info for the 2 specific wheel speed sensors you’ll need in the front. These sensors are readily available, so I’m not including them in the kit, and instead letting folks get them whatever way is best for them, OEM or aftermarket. (As of Sept, 2024 aftermarket ones from Rock Auto are $40 each.)
• 1 pair machined rear wheel speed sensor mounting adapters
• 1 pair Bosch compatible sensors (for rear install). I am providing these because they are not readily available in North America, so I’ve ordered in bulk from overseas to save you the hassle, weeks of wait time, and international shipping cost.

Not included in the kit:

• MK60 kit, wiring, or anything else you’ll need to install and use MK60 ABS
• Instructions on how to install, wire, use, or diagnose MK60 ABS. This is a wheel speed sensor and sensor mounting kit only.

Installation instructions:

• 4 adapters are provided. Two are thin, two are thick. Thin adapters are used on rear knuckles, thick adapters are used on front knuckles.
• Place one of the appropriate provided adapters between the knuckle and each sensor, torque sensor mounting bolt to stock spec.

Note: This kit is produced and sold for off road competition use only, and is not suited to road use. BMW MK60 ABS conversions require installation expertise including but not limited to installation of a new ABS unit, sensors, associated custom wiring, and will cause an ABS warning light in the stock gauge cluster, as well as error codes.
